Deadline looms for Sustainable Development Award 2026
There is less than a month to go before the deadline for entries to a prestigious award that recognises the wide-ranging impact of the acoustics industry on sustainability.
Sponsored by ANC and ANV Measurement Systems, the Sustainable Development Award will be presented at this year’s John Connell Awards, organised by the Noise Abatement Society.
The award celebrates sustainable development products, services and solutions that reduce noise and/or improve sound to benefit the environment, society (health and wellbeing) and the economy in line with the applicable areas of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Robert Osborne of the ANC said: “The John Connell Sustainable Development Award demonstrates the value of improving the sound environment and the benefits it brings to society and the environment.
“The category is deliberately broad to reflect Lindsay’s Wheel of Acoustics and allow entrants to showcase the vast impacts that acoustics can have on sustainability.”
Entries for the award should meet at least one of the following criteria:
- New or enhanced product(s) or solutions demonstrating significant and/or novel sustainability in technological, managerial and/or process advancement(s) to resolve noise and/or improve the sound environment, and/or
- Organisations demonstrating a history of sustainable development for more than 2 years to resolve noise and/or improve the sound environment.
Further details, including how to enter can be found at: https://www.association-of-noise-consultants.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/ANC-SBD-AWARD-2026-CRITERIA.pdf
Entries close on Friday 18th September at 6pm. Award finalists will be invited to attend the John Connell Awards ceremony, which takes place at the Palace of Westminster on Wednesday 21st October.
