Gym Acoustics Guidance

ProPG : Gym Acoustics Guidance (GAG)

The Guidance aims to provide practitioners, developers, operators and Local Authorities with guidance on a recommended approach for the standardised methodology for assessing buildings and environments for the location of gymnasiums, fitness and exercise spaces.

A key aim of the Guidance is to result in a more consistent approach in support of the delivery of sustainable development and to assist the successful location of Gyms near to noise sensitive adjacencies, where it is appropriate and to identify where it is not.

A validation sheet has been made available by the working group of the Guidance following feedback, to allow checks of the prediction methods and also the recreation of the G-curves. The Excel document can be accessed here.
